Project request

Our client requested support in the design and implementation of a world-class innovation and pilot-scale plant-based dairy CDMO. In addition to outlining land and utilities requirements, the study was to develop a list of essential processing equipment, engineering floor plans and a fully costed roadmap to construction and operation. The client further requested an outline of key R&D services and professional expertise required to establish the facility as world-class and state-of-the-art.

Our work

To inform our study on processing equipment and world-class R&D services, we consulted within our expert team, many of whom have prior experience designing and operating plant-based dairy facilities. Based on their input, we were able to produce a costed business strategy that would establish the facility as world-leading. For land requirements and engineering floor plans, we turned to our engineering partner company, with whom we closely collaborated in an agile working mode in order to best meet the client’s needs. 

Project deliverable

We provided the client with a fully detailed basis of design and construction timeline, along with facility floorplans, costed equipment inventory and process flow, staffing plans, and a landscaping of potential partners. We also delivered a study on in-house expertise building and additional CDMO services, such as best-in-class remote pilot runs, that could be implemented in order to assure our client’s success as industry leaders and pioneers.
