Senior Sales Manager

Shape the future of the food industry by planning and executing strategic direct sales plans, building relationships, and identifying new business opportunities.

About Bright Green Partners

Bright Green Partners is a global alternative protein focused consulting house that was founded in 2020 and is dedicated to transforming meat and dairy production to solve some of the world's biggest challenges.

We work with leading global food and biotech companies and governments to help them navigate the emerging plant-based, fermentation-derived, and cultivated meat and dairy industries. Our services include strategy, innovation, and operational consulting, and we guide our clients from the initial stages of their journey all the way to large-scale production and market entry.

We're a young and ambitious consultancy with a strong track record of growth and a range of satisfied global customers, including Kraft Heinz and Ajinomoto. Over the first 2.5 years of our organization, we established a robust foundation for our company, from proposal and business delivery procedures to finance and beyond.

One of the core differentiators of Bright Green Partners compared to other consultancies is our content marketing approach which includes producing white papers, newsletter, case studies, webinars, and other educational materials that provide insights into the alternative protein industry. By sharing our knowledge and expertise, we establish ourselves as thought leaders in the field, which helps us attract and retain clients.

However, we recognize that direct sales can be an important complement to our content marketing efforts, which is why we are looking for a Senior Sales Manager who can develop and execute a comprehensive direct sales strategy. This includes identifying potential clients, generating leads, building relationships, and ultimately closing deals.

Joining our team means having the opportunity to work with a dynamic and ambitious group of professionals who are passionate about making a positive impact on the world. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, as well as a flexible and supportive work environment.

About the role

The Senior Sales Manager we’re looking for will be responsible for all outbound (direct) sales activities, including independently building relationships with potential clients and providing qualified leads with clear and relevant service needs to the consulting team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Creating and managing a direct sales pipeline that meets your assigned sales targets (KPIs). You will also be responsible for providing accurate sales forecasting to the organization, which will help the rest of the team update budgets and coordinate project workload.
  • You will be expected to take charge during the initial stages of client engagement, which involves reaching out to potential leads and conducting preliminary calls to understand their needs and evaluate potential project opportunities. Your role also entails verifying the quality of the lead and determining whether it is a promising opportunity for the company.
  • When pre-qualified leads are identified and are ready to discuss a potential project, you will work closely with our Principal (the leader of the consulting team) and other members of the consulting team to ensure effective communication with clients and successful project proposals.
  • Once the lead has a specific project request, the Principal from the consulting team will join in to determine the best project approach.
  • Collaborating with the consulting team to understand the client's wishes and past inputs and conversations. While the consulting team will be responsible for creating proposals, we expect you to communicate the client's needs in a clear and effective manner to create trust.
  • Gaining a strong understanding of the consulting services industry and the food industry. It will be expected of you to keep up-to-date (on a high level) with the latest trends and developments in these industries, particularly in regards to alternative proteins. While we do not expect you to be a technical expert in alternative proteins, it is an advantage.
  • As you nurture leads and engage in sales activities, you will directly report to and collaborate with our Managing Partner, Geza Molnar, who oversees the overall sales strategy and content marketing for our organization.
  • Keeping track of your activities on HubSpot.

What you will bring in

  • You have 10-15 years of professional experience, including recent experience in high-value B2B sales.
  • You are located (ideally) in the Netherlands and should have experience in the food industry.
  • Expert skills in developing and presenting the strategic vision and value proposition to senior client executives to close high-ticket B2B sales projects are essential.
  • You should be able to collaborate with Account Executives and consulting team members to engage clients in a way that builds credibility and increases services opportunities.
  • Capability and interest in working independently, especially when it comes to lead nurturing, is required.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in Hubspot or other CRM tools (we use Hubspot) is a must.
  • You must be able to manage your time and priorities effectively, completing tasks in a timely manner.
  • Fluency in English is required.

What we offer

  • Fast-paced onboarding in the alternative protein industry
  • Remote working lifestyle (within Europe; outside of Europe is discussible with European working hours)
  • Bi-annual meet-ups with the whole company in varying locations in Europe
  • Occasional additional travels for client meetings and internal strategy sessions
  • A full-time position with a good work-life balance
  • Salary indication: annual base salary of €75.000 and a quarterly paid uncapped performance bonus based on reached sales KPIs.

Company culture

  • We're a team of highly passionate individuals who share a common goal of shaping the future of meat and dairy with a commercial focus.
  • We have a serious approach to our work but we don't take ourselves too seriously. We're a relatively small consultancy with an entrepreneurial spirit and look for people who enjoy such an environment. In other words, you'll need to book your flight tickets.
  • We're a remote company and value our employees' independence and flexibility.
  • We understand the importance of a good work-life balance and believe that it leads to better productivity and overall well-being.
