Cultivated meat market study & value proposition

Our client engaged us to analyze the value chain stages and challenges in the cultivated meat (CM) industry. They also requested our help defining a strategic value proposition and identifying the primary activities they should focus on within the industry.

Our work

Supported by industry experts, we conducted a comprehensive review of all steps and variations within the value chain. This review included assessing the maturity of each step in the value chain, identifying key players at each stage, and discerning the major current and potential challenges in the cultured meat industry. 

In parallel, our team performed high-level value proposition analyses, enabling us to identify the top three opportunities in the industry that the client should pursue based on their inherent capabilities.

Moreover, we interviewed major industry players to validate and incorporate the current industry bottlenecks into our analysis.

Project deliverable

We delivered a comprehensive report, which encompassed an overview of the cultured meat process value chain, a detailed look at critical issues and challenges in the cultured meat industry, a thorough list of key industry players along with their respective technology descriptions, and an analysis of the key platform technologies for each value chain step. 

The report also presented a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) overview for each value chain step, illustrating the respective maturity state.

Additionally, we outlined a strategic plan, complete with all key elements of the strategy, a partnership framework, and a roadmap for practical implementation by 2030.
