Our client, one of the largest Dutch food retailers, reached out to us with a request for a comprehensive category management strategy. The client wished to better understand the landscape of plant-based foods, and based on this, to obtain a practical implementation roadmap.
For the success of this project, it was crucial for us to provide our client with the most detailed benchmark possible. In order to attain this, we combined our deep in-house retail knowledge with a core industry benchmark and insights from a range of international retail, commercial and manufacturing experts.
We provided our client with a highly detailed competitive overview, including product portfolios of all major regional retailers and pricing of relevant products. Based on this work, we created an overview of private label opportunities and a practical approach to pilot-testing high-potential products. Finally, we defined a granular roll-out plan for the top selected products.
